The President of India is the first person of India. He is the constitutional head of our country and without his assent any rule cannot be implemented as a law. According to article 60 the President of India is the prompt defender of our constitution and prospector of the constitution. To be elected as president, the conditions are:-
- Must be indian citizen.
Have age around 35 years or above.
In the time of election, does not hold any beneficial post.(like, prime minister, cabinet minister, governors are not consider as beneficial posts)
Qualify to be elected as Lok Sabha(MP)
At present our president’s annual salary is Rs.150000 which is very tiny among Russian, American
At present, our current President of India is Mr.Pranab Mukherjee. He is from Bengol and first bengoli to be a President of India.
Works and power of a President is to call a joint session of both houses (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha). He can dismiss Lok Sabha and can implement article 352 i.e, (National Emergency) in case of revolt, external invasion or political issues like, in 1975 there was an National Emergency declared due to political disturbance.
Every constitution body do their work in the name of President. Among 13 presidents, only 7 presidents are from politician parties and other 6 are from other curriculum. From 7 politician presidents, 6 of them were from Congress Party while the other one was from Janata Party.
Presentation of our President:-
From 26 January 1950, to 12 May 1962. He was the first president who was the first president who was selected twice as our president. Rajendra Prasad also has a designation that he was the only president who serves longest period of work i.e, the longest serving president of india.
From 13 May 1962, to 13 May 1967 we celebrate teachers day on the birth day of Radhakrrishnan i.e, 5th September. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was the first president selected from south india and he was the first president who elected as president after completing or serving as vice-president (the first vice president)
From 13 May 1967 to 3 May 1969. Mr. Zakir Hussian as the first muslim president of india and also the shortest serving president of india. Zakir Hussian was the first president who died in office.
4.V.V Giri (Varahagiri Venkata Giri)
From 24 August 1969 to 24 August 1974 V.V. Giri was the first president who served both acting president and president of india.
5.Fakharuddin Ali Ahmed.
24August 1974 to 11 February 1977. Fakharuddin Ali Ahmed was the president in the time of national emergency and second president who died in office.
6. Neelam Sanjiva Reddy
From 25 July 1977 to 25 July 1982. Neelam Sanjiva Reddy was the first chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
7. Giani Zail Singh
From 25 July to 25 July 1987
8. Ramaswamy Venkataraman
From 25 July 1987 to 25 July 1992
9. Shankar Dayal Sharma

10. Kocheril Raman Narayan (K.R.Narayan)

11. A.P.J Abdul Kalam
25 July 2002 to 25 July 2007. People’s president of india and also a bachelor president. In his name odissa’s Waller island was changed into kalam island. He was the inventor of Indian missile technology and his work is seen in Agni missiles.
12. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil
From 25 July 2007 to 25 July 2012.She was the first women president of india and also first women governor of Rajesthan.
From 25 July 2012 to 25 July 2017. Pranab Mukherjee served in various ministry like external affairs, defense ministry, economic ministry and also he was the deputy chairman. Of the then Yojana ayug. He was the first president from Bengal and the first Bengoli president.
We have three acting president i.e, V.V.Giri , Mohammad Hidayattullah and B.D Jatti.
